As an amateur, he won four silver medals at middleweight in the Cuban National Championships between 2015 to 2018.

His amateur record is listed at 184 wins - 16 losses.

He is promoted by Camille Estephan of Eye of the Tiger Management and trained by Marc Ramsay in Montreal, Canada.

He became the IBO world super-middleweight champion in December 2022 and has made four successful defences over three years.

He has also won WBA Inter-Continental, IBO International, IBO Youth titles at super-middleweight.

Iglesias is ranked IBF #1 / WBC #7 / WBO #12.
