Results
Michel Soro stopped Hassan Mwakinyo in the ninth round in front of a sold-out crowd in Abidjan, Ivory Coast earlier this month to claim the IBO World Middleweight title. Soro migrated to France as a child and this was his first fight in the Ivory Coast.
Juergen Uldedaj went to war at Wembley Arena with Austine Nnamdi last month taking a unanimous decision victory. The Albanian was embraced by fans and his mother post-fight as he made his first successful title defense as IBO World Cruiserweight champion.
IBO Legends
There are champions. There are legends. And then there is Gennadiy Gennadyevich Golovkin. Compiled a streak of 23 consecutive knockouts. IBO Middleweight Champion, successfully defended 17 consecutive times. Finished his professional career with 42 victories, including 37 by knockout. Inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame last weekend.
Fought for the IBO World title 13 times, Antonio Tarver was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame last weekend in Canastota, NY. Tarver claimed the IBO Light Heavyweight title winning two of his three with fights with Roy Jones Jr. His multiple IBO world title fights included Bernard Hopkins and Glen Johnson.
