Lawrence Okolie injured, fight with Richard Riakporhe cancelled

Lawrence Okolie (21-1, 16KO) has been forced to withdraw from his April 5th fight with Richard Riakporhe (17-1, 13KO) after suffering an injury in training, just weeks ahead of fight night.

Two-weight world champion Okolie becomes the second big name to pull out of the April 5 event, after Dillian Whyte suffered an injury to his hand during his training camp for Joe Joyce, who now faces Filip Hrgovic instead.

Davi Adeleye vs Jeamie TKV still occupies the dwindling bill, as too do the likes of Mark Chamberlain, heavyweight debutant Delicious Orie, and unbeaten 'Major' Khaleel Majid.

There's plenty of time for Queensberry to bring in another opponent for 35-year-old Riakporhe, should he decide to continue to fight on the date he has been preparing for.

Okolie signed with Queensberry last October, and won his first fight under Frank Warren's management via first-round knockout at Wembley Arena in December, on the under card of Brad Pauls vs Denzel Bentley.
