A Hurricane happened in Sheffield
Nicola "Hurricane" Hopewell (8-1, 1 KO) sent French champion Marie Connan (7-4) to the canvas in the sixth round while on her way to a great split decision victory in Sheffield to claim the IBO World Flyweight title on July 19.
Hopewell is a former Commonwealth champion from Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

Andre Van Grootenbruel announces retirement
Andre Van Grootenbruel's 45-plus years in boxing includes the last 25 years with the IBO as a judge, referee, then Vice President.
He is hugely respected for his experience, knowledge and professionalism as IBO Vice President.
The good news is that, at the request of the IBO President, Ed Levine, he has agreed to continue to work as an IBO Fight Commissioner.
