Dave Allen back in the ring next month

Dave Allen (25-9-2, 20 KOs) has announced his next fight date on a small hall show in Rotherham on June 20.

He aims to bounce back with a four or six-round heavyweight contest against a journeyman.

“June 20th at Rotherham Magna I will be back in the ring,” the likeable fighter posted on Instagram.

“I physically cannot sit and wait to get back in the ring after last week.

“Full transparency, it will be a journeyman type of opponent and the rounds will be 4 or 6.

“Ticket prices £50 and £85 ringside but those who came to the fight at the football ground last week or my fights at Skate Central few years ago the tickets will be available at half the prices and with a free drink as I will be putting the money behind the bar for them so message @teamwhiterhino if you wanna come.

“If you wanna come, I just love to box and I wanna enjoy it and while I imagine and understand a lot won’t be bothered travelling for me doing these smaller fights, I have to rebuild this way to get my head out my arse and get to my final destination one final big fight”.

The 37th fight of his 14-year pro career will take place just 35 days after his last outing.

The 34-year-old Doncaster heavyweight was outclassed over three rounds in his last fight, May 16, by WBO #2 heavyweight Filip Hrgovic.

Following the quick defeat, Allen said he plans to have four more fights and a UK tour before hanging up his gloves. He plans to end the tour on a British title shot.

'The White Rhino' previously said, “People keep saying, ‘well win the British title now’, it’s not that easy, I’ve already lost to Frazer Clarke; won some, lost some at that level; I said to Eddie [Hearn] let’s do a tour of the country and maybe culminate with the British title at the end of it, maybe.

“Touring the UK now, six and eight rounders, hopefully easy jobs and hopefully can culminate in boxing for the British title, maybe.”
