The eagerly-awaited undisputed heavyweight showdown between WBC king Tyson Fury and unified titlist Oleksandr Usyk takes place this month on Saturday, May 18, at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Fury-Usyk is the most significant heavyweight battle of the millennium, as the winner will become the division’s first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis claimed the throne way back in 1999.
And there's even more good news for fight fans, as the contracted rematch date has been confirmed for just five months time.
Michael Benson tweeted the following breaking news: "The Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk rematch is being planned for Oct 12th/13th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to begin the next Riyadh Season, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has revealed. He also said he's eyeing Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua for March 2025. [@ESPN]"
HE Turki Alalshikh also confirmed he wishes to make Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua in early 2025, regardless of the result of "The Gypsy King's" result against Usyk.
AJ has already been defeated twice by Usyk, so a third fight may be welcomed by some, but not all. Whether Fury defeats Usyk or not, a matchup with Joshua will be well received under any circumstances as the domestic rivals have been on a collision course for what seems like an eternity.
