Yuliahn ‘Cobrita’ Luna returns to the ring

WBC bantamweight champion Yuliahn ‘Cobrita’ Luna (20-3-1, 3KOs) returns to the ring on September 10th on home turf at Gómez Palacio, Durango, against world title contender Kandy ‘Rubia’ Sandoval (10-18, 2KOs).

27-year-old Yuliahn Alejandra Luna Ávila, known as 'La Cobrita', won the WBC bantamweight title by defeating legendary Mariana ‘Barby’ Juárez in an all-out war last October in 2020.

She is coached by her father Julio Luna.

Her 25th opponent, Kandy, 40-years-old from Torreon, Coahuila de Zaragoza, has faced great fighters throughout her career, involving 11 bouts against world champions, which gives her the experience and confidence for this encounter. She challenged for the WBC bantamweight title in August 2015, but was defeated unanimously by Mexican Zulina Munoz.

This will be Luna's maiden title defence of the green and gold belt she has held for just under a year now.
