Lou DiBella predicts Boxing will celebrate a woman SUPERSTAR during his lifetime!

Promoter Lou DiBella, who champions women's boxing, is convinced that a female superstar to rival the quality of Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard and Mike Tyson, will emerge during his lifetime.

Lou predicted this, during the Martes a Cafe weekly WBC Press Conference held at arm's length over the airwaves, to promote the WBC, WBO, IBF featherweight clash between champion Amanda Serrano and WBC super-bantamweight Yamileth Mercado, who is confidently and ambitiously stepping up a divison to challenge her on August 29th, at the Rocket Montage Fieldhouse in Cleveland Ohio.

It's another new and fresh chapter in the glorious rivalry between Puerto Rico and Mexico.

Lou congratulated women boxers for having the intelligence, savvy, drive and initiative to highlight themselves on social media networks, which is part and parcel for developing their brand and image.

He also stressed that punching power is an extremely important factor in achieving this cross- over appeal, citing the capabilities of Amanda as a proven and impressive power puncher, while praising the resolve and guts of “Yeimi” in seizing this challenge, relatively early in her career, saying others had not taken up this opportunity / risk so early.

Also citing that although there isn't a return clause in this fight contract, he's confident, willing and able to make a second fight a viable reality, if Mercado defeats southpaw Serrano. Amanda's record is 40-1-1 including 30 KO's. Yamileth's record is 18-2-0, including 5 KOs.

Yeimi is no stranger to taking on and overcoming the odds. Undaunted, she went to Nairobi, Kenya to fight super-bantamweight champion Fatuma Zarika, losing a close SD, and then defeating her for the championship, via UD in the rematch in Mexico. Characteristically and even defiantly, during this press conference she was wearing a T shirt with the logo: “Chingona!” Significantly Jackie Nava is part of her team, in preparing for the most important fight of her career.

Lou also mentioned the appeal and star quality of undefeated Katie Taylor, who in her own right, is the most popular athlete in Ireland.

He said that he's certain that, during his lifetime, there will be a superstar of women's boxing to elevate the sport to stratospheric levels.
