Kell Brook is back in the ring on Saturday night against undefeated Terence Crawford in a welterweight world title shot in America, and will be looking to spring a huge surprise and complete one of the greatest feats of a British fighter abroad.

GBN take a look at five victories that have defined Kell Brook during his professional career:

5. Kell Brook vs Barrie Jones

'The Special One' landed his first British title shot at York Hall against undefeated Barrie Jones, handing Kell Brook his first real test against an opponent with a winning record, on the same card as well-known heavyweigh Dereck Chisora.

This was Brook's first huge fight in his career to date, working with Dominic Ingle since he was nine to earn the opportunity against Rhondaa's Jones who took the fight at short notice.

Brook exploded from the first bell winning every single round with speed and technique, eventually earning a stoppage in the seventh round when the referee jumped in front to call the fight after another Brook barrage led to the towel being thrown in from the Jones corner.

He then spoke of his plans after: "Now I want to fight McIntyre if I can to give him a chance to win back his old title and then I will hopefully make a few quick defences before looking at the European title and a real world title next year."

 

4. Kell Brook vs Matthew Hatton

The Sheffield fighter took on Matthew Hatton on a record of 27 undefeated fights, looking to add an IBF international welterweight crown to his collection infront of 10,000 fans at the Motorpoint arena in his home town.

Brook took control of the fight from the very opening round bloodying Hatton's nose with a trademark stiff jab, boxing comfortably with power and aggression as always to bully Hatton round the ring.

Hatton had a vast amount of top level experience, and Brook knew it would be a hard job to get him onto the canvas.

However in the ninth round, The home-fighter landed a sweet left counter which landed flush knocking Hatton to the canvas, followed by a huge uppercut in the tenth which Hatton managed to take.

The fight went to the scorecards scored by judges at 118-109,119-107,119-108 handing Brook another unanimous decision victory to earn the IBF strap.

 

3. Kell Brook vs Carson Jones

Brook recieved his first real scare and came through a solid opponent in his first fight with American Carson Jones to retain his IBF international welterweight title.

Jones was at world number three coming into the fight, and caused Brook some real problems throughout the fight giving Brook an increasingly damaged nose throughout with some strong shots.

However Brook continued to battle on and land some big shots himself and survived a whirlwind championship round, in which Jones pushed extremely hard for the stoppage.

'Special K' earned a majority decision win with judges scoring the contest at 116-113, 155-113 and 114-114.

 

2. Kell Brook vs Shawn Porter

This fight appeared to be the biggest fight of Brook's career on paper with his first world title up for grabs against undefeated American welterweight Shawn Porter who was turning heads across the pond.

Brook went out to California to try and grab a significant victory in his career, with many fearing this was a step too far for the Sheffield born welterweight.

The Briton boxed extremely well against Porter in a superb even contest between the two, with Brook cut as a result of an accidental collision in the second round followed by the American's eye being cut by another accidental collision in the sixth round. Despie the fighters going toe-to-toe in the championship rounds, neither was able to force a late stoppage taking the victory to the judges scorecards.

Kell Brook managed to wrestle a victory on the scorecards with judges scoring the contest at 116-112, 117-111, 114-114 and record a historic world championship victory abroad to earn the IBF world welterweight title and defy his status as an underdog going into the fight.

 

1. Kell Brook vs Frankie Gavin

Kell Brook defended his IBF welterweight title against fellow Briton Frankie Gavin at the O2 Arena in London in another tremendous knockout victory in the sixth round, earning him a shot at pound for pound top level fighter Gennady Golovkin.

Gavin provided a different test for Brook as a southpaw, but Brook made a tremendously fast start that showed exactly why he was being linked with a shot at Floyd Mayweather. In the second and thir round Brook began to ground down the resolve of Gavin landing some heavy shots through the guard.

This early pressure led to a control being established, managing to mark Gavin's face by the fifth and started to be backed up onto the ropes for much too long in the contest. Then Brook landed a flush right hand, followed by two swift uppercuts to end the fight and give himself another tremendous victory, after referee stopped the heavy shot punishment.

 

Kell Brook takes on Terence Crawford in another top level fight for 'The Special One' and will be looking to complete one of the best foreign soil victorys for a British boxer massively against the odds.
