The talented bantamweight boxer and former WBC International champion from Pakistan, Kash Farooq, was forced to hang up the gloves at the age of 26, due to issues related to his health.
Ukashir was preparing for a rematch against fellow Scotsman Lee McGregor, until the surprise, unwelcome news was confirmed; although he did not leave the sport, as he remains part of his team at St Andrew’s Sporting Club in Scotland.
Thursday night, an evening in honor of Farooq will be held at St Andrew’s Sporting Club, where there will be exciting fights between young boxing promises, and of course Kash Farooq himself will be present.
History-making boxing champion Kash will be at the head table to reflect on his boxing career and plans for the future. There will also be live music and a raffle for amazing prizes. All proceeds will go to Farooq.
The World Boxing Council sent their well-wishes to their champion Kash Farooq, and wished St Andrew’s Sporting Club a successful and memorable evening.
