Porter will return to the ring after a ten month break from action after his defeat to Errol Spence Jr.

Former world welterweight champion, American Shawn “Showtime” Porter, will return to the ring on Saturday, against undefeated German Sebastián Formella, in a main match, for the World Boxing Council Silver welterweight title.

It will be at the “Microsoft Theater ”, in Los Angeles, California and which will be televised on FOX.
Porter (30-3-1) won the WBC welterweight belt by defeating Danny García in a close and thrilling fight, defending it once against Cuban Yordanis Ugas, and then being defeated by Errol Spence Jr. in September of last year, in which it was a classic encounter.

Formella (22-0, 10 KOs), is coming off a victory last January over Roberto Arriaza.

Welterweight Porter, has held the IBF title from 2013 to 2014 and the WBC title from 2018 to September 2019. As of August 2020, Porter is ranked as the world's fourth best active welterweight by BoxRec and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, and fifth by The Ring magazine.

The 32-year-old lost in a superb contest against Spence Jr, won the fight via split decision, with two scorecards reading 116–111 for Spence Jr., and the third 115–112 for Porter, in which 'Showtime' considered himself very unlucky to be on the losing side of victory.

He will be hoping to use his experience and power to overcome an undefeated fighter, and return to his status as a huge contender in the welterweight division.
