Cristian Araneta and Augustin Gauto will clash in an IBF Jr. Flyweight Eliminator

A purse bid took place today, July 9, 2019, for the IBF Jr. Flyweight Eliminator between #1 between Cristian Araneta (17-0, 14KO) and Augustin Gauto (12-0, 8KO) .

Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing (Araneta) won by bidding $63k for the bout. The only other participant bidding, on behalf of Gauto, came in at $61.5k.

Sampson Boxing has 90 day for the bout to take place, meaning the fight will likely take place in September in the Phillipines.

Cristian 'The Bomb' is undefeated in 17 outings and has amassed a fearsome 82% KO ratio during his approaching six-year professional career. He became a Philippines Boxing Federation (PBF) Light Flyweight champion in just his eighth fight in March 2015. He then added the WBO Oriental Light Flyweight Title in his 14th fight and the WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver Light Flyweight Title in his 16th and penultimate pro contest.

The 24-year-old was born and raised in Cebu City in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

His Argentinian opponent Augustin 'El Avión' Gauto is also undefeated and currently just 21-years-of-age. Despite just a dozen fights under his belt and less than two years in the pro ranks, the talented youngster has already collected South American Flyweight Title, and defended it once; the WBO Latino Light Flyweight Title; and the IBF Youth Light Flyweight Title, defending it successfully in his last fight in April this year with a sixth-round KO.

He has already competed in four different countries as a paid puncher so will have no qualms travelling to an away corner for this Eliminator contest.

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz was the mastermind behind signing Manny Pacquiao all the way back in 1999.
