Promoter Triller announces that 11-time world champion Oscar De La Hoya will return to the ring, to face UFC former fighter Vitor Belfort, on Saturday, September 11, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at a venue to be announced.
De La Hoya and Belfort will clash in a boxing ring, in an exhibition that will be broadcast on PPV.
The legendary Mexican fighter revealed his motivations for taking part in a historic exhibition and retaping his gloves once again, with his founding organisation of Golden Boy Promotions ongoing.

“I am ready to return to the ring and I am proud to be a part of Triller and its revolutionary model of reinventing the business of boxing as entertainment. I have nothing but respect for a champion like Vitor Belfort, so it is certain that we will have a fight of high level, “De La Hoya commented.”
“My return in September is incredibly important, as it represents a very important moment in history for me, my fans and my culture. This date is very special for all those with ties and roots in Mexico.”
For his part, Belfort said: “It will be my pleasure to represent MMA again, this time in the ring against one of the biggest names in boxing history. It will be a classic not to be missed and a fight my children will talk about. This is sure to make combat sports history.“
