Knockouts will be permitted in Mike Tyson's clash with Roy Jones Jr despite rule confusion

The exhibition bout between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr will allow for stoppages and knockouts on Saturday night, after broadcaster in America TRILLER released a statement clarifying the rules and scoring methods after some confusion involving the California Comission.

Doubts were raised over the legitimacy of the ruling and scoring of the exhibition after director of the California Comission Andy Foster spoke out stating that there will be 'no KOS and no winner of the contest' but this has since been rubbished by the broadcaster who will show the clash live in most global markets.

Triller co-owner Ryan Kavanaugh said: "Know there have been some false rumours swirling, so to be crystal clear - the WBC is scoring the fight, there could be a knockout and there will be one winner. Anyone who says there is going to be no judging or no winner either does not understand the rules or has their own agenda. Unquestionably. 100%.

"We have nothing but the utmost respect for Andy and everyone at CSAC. For total clarity we are not implying that CSAC is picking a winner or scoring. The WBC is scoring and a winner will be determined using those scores as a basis. 

"We apologise for any confusion and look forward to a great night of fights Saturday night."

The WBC has come under fire after other rumours including the use of celebrity judges to score the contest have been circling with the uncertainty around the fight not seeming to affect the early sales of the PPV with reports of the event breaking the presale pay-per-view record across global markets as anticipation continues to build for the return of 'Iron' Tyson.

A celebrity card will also feature YouTuber Jake Paul fighting a former NBA basketball player Nate Robinson, and will also include a concert as part of the purchase and coverage on the night.
