WBC light flyweight champion Ken Shiro (16-0), successfully defended his WBC belt for the sixth time defeating Filipino challenger Jonathan Taconing (28-4-1) by TKO in the fourth round on a card that took place on Friday, July 12 at the Osaka Edion Arena in Japan.
It was a deadly accurate right hand to the face from 'The Amazing Boy' which sent 'Lightning' Taconing to the canvas. He regained his footing but looked to be in a very bad condition, unsteadily standing up and trying bravely to continue but Referee Frank Garza wisely decided to stop it there and then.
Ken scored his 16th stright win with nine knockouts, while Taconing dropped to a fourth defeat in 23 wins, with one draw and 22 knockouts.
