Jessica McCaskill (7-2, 3 KOs) successfully defended her WBC super Lightweight crown against Anahi Sanchez (19-4, 11 KOs) at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
McCaskill clashed with Sanchez in a highly-anticipated female bout with the champion defeating the challenger by a unanimous decision.
McCaskill locked horns from the opening bell, trading hard unflinching shots throughout the contest.
Jessica bloodied Anahi’s nose midway through the bout but her determined opponent intrepidly kept coming. Jessica was able to energetically increase her output in the last two rounds to gain the well deserved victory.
She won handily with scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 96-94.
McCaskill is now 7-2, 3 KO’s while Sanchez falls to 19-4, 11 KO’s.
