Frank Sanchez is not disheartened by the man who stands in the way of realising his dream

Frank Sanchez (25-1, 18 KO’s) is edging ever closer to a world title shot, as he is preparing to crown himself as the IBF mandatory challenger following a breakthrough in eliminator negotiations.

It has recently been revealed that Frank Sanchez will share the ring with Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21 KO’s), as the Briton looks to reclaim his recently lost world title.

Dubois was not the first name on the IBF's list of foes to face Sanchez. Still, with Moses Itauma, Filip Hrgovic and Richard Torres Jr. all turning the opportunity down, the torch eventually fell into Dubois's hands.

“Daniel Dubois is a great, strong fighter, but I must beat him in order to fulfil my dream of becoming the first Cuban heavyweight champion in history," said Sanchez to Sky Sports.

“Our styles will make for a very exciting and explosive fight, you will see!"

The Cuban is ready to get into camp and start preparing for the monumental task ahead of him - and he's in safe hands, with Eddy Reynoso Jr., Canelo Alvarez’s right-hand man, in the corner for the upcoming battle.

"Hopefully, negotiations go well and we can make this fight in the UK, Saudi Arabia, USA, wherever, just so long as it gets made.

"I will be well prepared with Eddy Reynoso in my corner.”

Who is Frank Sanchez?

The Cuban fighter has held multiple continental titles, including the NABO and WBC Continental Americas straps.

He had held onto a devastating undefeated record until he found himself sharing the ring with the on-form Agit Kabayel in the Cubans' second most recent outing.

After seven rounds of punishment, the fight was waved off, and Sanchez was relieved of his belts.

He has since somewhat bounced back to form, capturing a third-round stoppage win against Ramon Olivas Echeverria. However, his Mexican counterpart is not exactly a known quantity in the world of heavyweight boxing.

With his only big-name fight ending in defeat, the jury is still out on Frank Sanchez, and it's difficult to envision anything other than a second blemish on his record when he eventually shares the ring with ‘Triple D’
