Undefeated World Boxing Council Lightweight Champion Devin Haney (24-0, 15 KOs) stays in shape awaiting date and venue for the next defense of his title.
“I am excited to return to the ring. This has been the longest time between fights in my career. My body received a well-deserved rest. I am motivated and blessed, ”said Haney.
“I have been fortunate to spend a lot of time with Floyd Mayweather. Being compared to Mayweather is the best compliment for any fighter in this era of boxing. I’m the most skilled fighter in the world right now and I’m looking forward to an opponent that I can prove it.
“This pandemic is something we have never before seen. It is difficult for everyone around the world. We have all been in quarantine for the past few months, including myself, and fortunately staying home is the best place to be. Similar in many ways to training camp. I pray to God things get back to normal soon. I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring as soon as possible.”
Multi division world champions Jorge Linares and Javier Fortuna will meet in the ring during the month of August and Luke Campbell is to meet Ryan Garcia in a date to be determined. All four contenders are looking to gain a shot at the champion Haney.
