Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz 2 likely to be scheduled for November 9

Date almost fixed for Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz rematch

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (41-0-1) will rematch with Cuban Luis Ortiz (31-1), whom he already defeated in March of last year.

This expected rematch could take place on November 9 at a venue yet to be confirmed, the World Boxing Council have reported.

Their first meeting, which ended in a 10th round TKO victory for Wilder, was held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Wilder, 33, comes into the contest undefeated in 42 contests as a four-year-long reigning heavyweight world champion. His fearsome power that has seen him knockout 40 of his 41 victims was further displayed in dramatic fashion when he crumpled Dominic Breazeale (20-2) to the canvas in the first round of their recent May 18 fight in New York.

'The Bronze Bomber' will be defending  his belt for the 10th time against ‘King Kong’.

Cuban southpaw Ortiz, 40-years-old, has 31 victories on his record, 26 of them by KO, his single defeat suffered against Wilder. During the contest, he managed to rock Wilder, who came out delayed in the following round, which caused some controversy in the aftermath of the contest. Wilder previously stated that he wants to answer all the questions in his career starting with Ortiz next, followed by Tyson Fury, the one person he didn't defeat, in February next year.
