It was the performance of a career for Conor Benn (24-1, 14 KO’s) on Saturday, as he expertly dismantled his blood rival Chris Eubank Jr. (35-4, 25 KO’s) in a rematch of the pair's April affair.
The first bout saw Eubank’s size advantage on full display, with Benn looking handicapped at 160 lbs; however, this time around, a different story was told.
Eubank looked flat and depleted from the offset, consistently getting beaten to the punch, whilst ‘The Destroyers’ unpredictable shot selection, and tricky footwork made him difficult to defend, and even harder to counter.
The 36-year-old did find pockets of success, but they were few and far between, while his younger counterpart quite clearly ran away with the scorecards - the judges scoring the bout 119-107, 116-110, and 118-108, all in favour of Conor Benn.
The 29-year-old has finally given his family something to cheer about, with his victory marking the first time the Benn family have got one over the Eubanks in their cross-generational rivalry dating back to the 90s.
Following his success, Benn revealed that he has little interest in staying at 160 lbs, instead eyeing up a return to the welterweight division in search of world honours.
While Mario Barrios appears to be his first port of call, the Briton is open to any offers, and the WBO strap holder has revealed he is enticed by the prospect of a bout versus boxing's man of the moment.
"I believe Conor Benn will become a world champion, and I know he's not scared of anybody," WBO world champion Brian Norman Jr told talkSPORT.
"I would welcome that fight in your country.
"I haven't fought over there yet, but it will happen.
"I'll come over there whenever Conor Benn gets a belt...
"My goal is to become undisputed, so I want to fight whoever has the belts, but I like that fight with Benn."
Norman Jr is currently prepping to defend his world title versus Devin Haney on Saturday, November 22, in Riyadh.
This will undoubtedly be a tough test for the American, but should he come through unscathed, a bout with Benn will begin to look all the more likely.
