Claressa Shields signs huge multi-million pound fight contract

Claressa Shields’ new contract is eye-watering

The self-proclaimed ‘GWOAT’ Claressa Shields (17-0, 3 KO’s) has become a divisive figure in the combat sports scene.

The 30-year-old is a three-weight world champion, two-time Olympic gold medallist, and has even dipped her toes into the world of MMA, though that didn't go quite as smoothly as her boxing career.

Shields had already been approached by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) over a potential deal, though an agreement was never met. 

MVP has built up quite a stable in the women's boxing scene, representing modern greats such as Chantelle Cameron and Amanda Serrano.

However, Shields decided against the offer and has recently signed an incredible multi-fight deal with a competing promotion.

Wynn Records and Salita Promotions offered the fighter a whopping £6.1 million, which was clearly too good to be true, and she has since spoken about how this deal will open new avenues for her going forward. 

"This deal represents more than just a contract, it's a statement. I've fought my entire career to prove that women's boxing deserves equal respect, equal pay, and equal opportunity," said Shields.

"Partnering with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records gives me the platform to keep breaking barriers inside and outside the ring. Together, we're building something that's never been done before."

Salita Promotions has been the sole promoter of the boxer since she turned professional, and since the new deal, they have revealed their excitement to continue working alongside the pound-for-pound great.

It’s expected that the American will return to the ring in early 2026, though an opponent has yet to be decided upon.
