Former undisputed champion Chantelle Cameron joins Queensberry Promotions
Just days after splitting with Matchroom Boxing, former undisputed super-lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron (18-1, 8KO) has now joined rival stable Queensberry Promotions.
Promoter Frank Warren unveiled his new signing today, along with Prince Naseem's son, Aadam Hamed.
Upon signing, 32-year-old Cameron said,"I've had that loss and now it's completely different, I feel like I just want to rip everyone's head off.
"I took that loss and I know what I'm capable of, and I just won't let it happen again.
"Anyone that's in my way, I'm coming for them. I'm going to get my belts back one way or another."
From Northampton, 'Il Capo' Cameron debuted in May 2017, winning the IBO World lightweight title in just her fifth fight, within seven months of her pro bow. She then became a two-weight world champ in October 2020 by claiming the WBC World super-lightweight belt, then a year later she realised her dream of becoming a unified world titlist.
Unbeaten in 16 bouts, Cameron met Jessica McCaskill in a winner takes all contest, which saw the brilliant Brit crowned as the undisputed super-lighweight queen.
She defended her hoard of silverware to Irish superstar Katie Taylor in May 2023 with an emphatic performance that was only marred by a rogue 95-95 scorecard denying her rthe ight to a deserved unanimous decision win.
The rematch six months on, back in Dublin once again, saw a resurgent Taylor even the score.
Cameron tried her all to secure the trilogy decider, agreeing to a reduction in purse, but Taylor is looking towards a rematch with Amanda Serranno in America this July instead.
