Carl Frampton has booked his return date, venue and opponent

Former two-weight world champion Frampton returns from injury to face world No.5

Belfast’s ‘Jackal’ (26-2, 15 KOs) moves up to super-featherweight to take on undefeated American Tyler McCreary (16-0-1, 7 KOs) at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on November 30  – live on ESPN+ in the US in association with Top Rank and on BT Sport in the UK in association with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions.

With one of Frampton’s primary targets, Oscar Valdez, facing off against Andres Gutierrez on the same bill, Frampton is thrilled at the prospect of returning to fight in America for the first time since in almost three years.

Frampton said: “I’m delighted to be making a comeback after what’s been a horrible year for my career.

“I didn’t get the Top Rank deal off to an ideal start but coming back in Vegas is great for me, especially against a really strong opponent. It needed to be someone who would test me.

“This is what I want, what ESPN wants, what MTK Global wants and what Top Rank wants so I’m 100% confident it’s the right move for me.

“McCreary is a quality opponent but if I want to be competing against the top guys in the world, which I believe I can, I need to be beating guys like him and doing it in style.”

Top Rank founder Bob Arum said: “This is a tremendous super-featherweight double-header and both Frampton and Valdez have their hands full against top opponents.

“If Valdez and Frampton both win, world title opportunities await them in 2020.”

Frampton’s co-promoter Frank Warren said: “In this fight, I believe Carl will prove that he’s an elite fighter and will be fighting for world titles again before long.”

Frampton unified world titles at super-bantamweight in 2016 before stepping up to defeat featherweight king Leo Santa Cruz and become a two-weight world champion later the same year.
