Puerto Rican bantamweight prospect Caleb Tirado marches on unbeaten

Puerto Rican bantamweight prospect Caleb Tirado (2-0, 1 KO) continued his dawning potential in the professional ranks, with a unanimous decision victory over Mexico’s Osmar Rodríguez Gámez on a Salita Promotions card streamed live on DAZN from GLC Live at 20 Monroe in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The judges scored the bout 59-55, 58-56, and 58-56, all in favor of Tirado, who once again displayed the qualities that made him one of Puerto Rico’s most accomplished amateur boxers, keen to made a successful transition to the pro ranks.

Over six rounds, the young Puerto Rican effectively utilized his deft hand speed, neat footwork, slick ring IQ, and adept distance control, to neutralize Rodríguez Gámez’s offense. The performance improved his professional record to 2-0 with one knockout.

Beyond the result, the fight served as a valuable developmental test for Tirado. Against a tough and experienced opponent, he maintained tactical discipline, made adjustments throughout the contest, and demonstrated maturity rarely seen in a fighter with only two professional bouts.

Before turning professional, Tirado compiled an impressive amateur résumé that included more than 190 fights, multiple national championships, and international experience representing Puerto Rico.

“This was the type of fight that helps a young prospect grow,” said his manager, Carlos Avilés. “Caleb showed maturity, discipline, and the ability to control a fight over six rounds. He is still developing as a professional, but performances like this are why we believe he can become one of Puerto Rico’s next great boxing stories.”

With the victory, Tirado remains undefeated and continues to gain valuable experience as his team looks ahead to an active developmental year. Thanks to his strong amateur foundation and the skills he has already demonstrated in the professional ranks, the Arecibo native continues to establish himself as one of Puerto Rico’s most promising young talents in the lower weight divisions.
