Elite boxing to return in UK in mid February after suspension with several shows rescheduled

The BBBofC have confirmed that boxing will return to the UK in mid February after ruling the suspension of all boxing action during January due to the complications caused by the severe problems surrounding the coronavirus pandemic in Britain.

This comes after a great deal of pressure from promoters and fans with other elite sports such as football and rugby union taking place despite a hike in cases of the disease nationally.

Many shows will now be rescheduled from their initial January date including David Avanesyan's clash with Josh Kelly which was initially set to take place on the 30th of January.

Eddie Hearn has confirmed he is set to announce several shows in the coming weeks, with several British fighters set to feature including the rematch of Dillian Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin.
