Bob Arum targets new date for Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder rematch

Tyson Fury will face Deontay Wilder for a third time and Bob Arum hopes that a date and venue can be confirmed with fans in attendance

Tyson Fury's clash with Deontay Wilder is likely to be staged at the Allegiant Stadium on December 19th with fans in attendance, as Top Rank promoter Bob Arum confirmed the negotiations are taking place for the heavyweight bout to take place to prevent any more financial losses from the ongoing pandemic.

Top Rank and Frank Warren believe that the plan to hold the event in December could see fans be permitted into the arena for the fight, preventing the losses of ticket sales and restoring the atmosphere into the sport.

The 'Gypsy King' comprehensively defeated Wilder at last time of asking back in February this year, but a rematch clause was inserted in the contract giving 'The Bronze Bomber' another shot at avenging his defeat after drawing the first fight.

Bob Arum has admitted that making the fight this year could still yet be hard, but remains hopeful that talks with Las Vegas Raiders will be positive so the event can hold at least 14,000 fans.

He said to ESPN: "That’s what we’re moving ahead on, on all fronts, with the security, with the virus, and everything, we’re talking with everybody here in town, with the Raiders. So we’re optimistic that we’ll be able to do the event in Nevada, in Las Vegas.”

Fury also remains keen on completing the trilogy with Wilder, and the 32-year-old believes he will dismantle his American opponent once again, and move onto a super-fight with Anthony Joshua remaining world champion.

"I don’t know, but here we go. If Wilder’s not happening, let’s do Joshua in December,’ Fury said on BT Sport. ‘Why not? It’s a boxing match, let’s get it on. I’m ready to go. I could fight him in that ring tonight. I’ll still kick his ass any time of the day. Doesn’t matter anyway. ‘Do I see the fight happening anytime soon? Hopefully. ‘Hopefully they’d grow a pair and want to fight the Gypsy King. If I was in their position, I had my chance at glory to go to America and beat Wilder but they didn’t take it! I had to come out of retirement, set about him a couple of times, take the No.1 spot, take all the glory and now they’re all looking up to me."
