The Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua saga continues

Anthony Joshua made his long-awaited ring return this weekend, dispatching Jake Paul in six rounds, in a performance that has been quoted to have ‘saved boxing’.

AJ's last fight saw him in Jake Paul's (12-2, 7 KO's) shoes, being knocked to the canvas multiple times before eventually facing a brutal fifth-round knockout at the hands of Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

However, after a successful comeback, the former two-time unified heavyweight champion is looking forward to an action-packed 2026.

Top of the hitlist is Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury. The pair have long been entangled in a war of words, though they have yet to share the ring.

A clash between the two British boxing giants appears closer than ever, with The Ring Magazine having previously announced that an agreement had been met for a 2026 Riyadh Season showdown.

Following his victory over Paul, the Watford fighter continued to fuel the fire, calling out his long-time rival and poking fun at Fury’s outspoken social media persona.

“If Tyson Fury’s as serious as he thinks he is and he wants to put down his Twitter fingers and put on some gloves and come and fight one of the realest fighters out there,” he said post-fight.

“Step in the ring with me next, if you’re a real bad boy. Don’t do all that talking — ‘AJ this, AJ that.’ Let’s see you in the ring and talk with your fists.”

No date has yet been revealed, but it is believed both men will both look to other opponents before finally facing off towards the year's end.
