Yamil Peralta wins WBC Silver cruiserweight title

Peralta defeats Mchunu in South Africa

Yamil Peralta, Argentine, South American and international champion of the World Boxing Council in the cruiserweight division, defeated Thabiso Mchunu by split decision over 10 rounds to win the WBC Silver cruiserweight title, on Friday, March 22, in the Olive Convention Center in Durban, South Africa.

The first half of the contest was balanced and counter balanced with alternating and fluctuating dominance. But as the rounds clocked up and ticked by, the clearest and most decisive blows came from Peralta, cornering the local and sealing his exit routes.

The Judges scored it: 97-93 for Peralta, 97-93 for Mchunu, and 96-94 for Peralta.
