Sam Noakes wins fist fight back since world title loss

Sam Noakes (18-1, 16 KOs) was victorious in his first fight back since his world title defeat in November 2025, defeating a former WBC FECOMBOX champion within two rounds.

Maidstone's 'Midge' was defeated by Abdullah Mason for the vacant WBO World lightweight title in Saudi Arabia last year, with two scorecards as close as 115-113.

Six months on and the 28-year-old Kent puncher was back to his explosive ways with a quick second round stoppage of Mexican Benito Sanchez Garcia (17-20-4, 5 KOs) at the York Hall on Sunday 3rd May.

Trained by Alan Smith and Eddie Lamm, Noakes simply stated on Instagram, "On to the next one," hinting that he aims to get back in the ring again very soon. Sam has boxed in 19 bouts over six-and-a-half years as a pro, winning five belts along the way, including British, Commonwealth and European lightweight titles.

In the main event, Syrian-born Londoner Yaser Al Ghena (16-0, 3 KOs) defeated Oxford's Bradley Townsend (19-1, 3 KOs) to win the Commonwealth and WBO European super-lightweight titles.

There were also wins for Henry Turner and Dylan Oke.
