William 'Camaron' Zepeda names the two fights he would relish next

World title contender William Zepeda Segura plotting next move

William 'Camaron' Zepeda Segura (33-1, 27 KOs) says he would relish a rematch with Shakur Stevenson or to go up a division to brawl with Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz.

Looking fit, slim and in top shape, Zepeda talked about his recent July 12th fight against Shakur Stevenson for the WBC lightweight belt.

Although he lost via unanimous decision, he pressured triple champion Shakur more constantly than any opponent thus far. 

The 29-year-old Mexican reflected, "I'm sad for my first loss as a pro fighter, but I've overcome many setbacks in my life. I started well and was doing well in the first rounds but didn't maintain the momentum as I should. Shakur Stevenson is an Olympic Silver medalist and a champion. He places his punches well, but he isn't powerful."

San Mateo's 'Camaron' believes he has learned plenty from this fight and would welcome a rematch the unbeaten southpaw from Newark to even the score, or an all-Mexican tear-up with Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz.

Asked about his views of the upcoming Canelo vs Crawford mega fight, Zepeda noted that in his previous fight, Canelo hadn't been particularly impressive but that he is in his natural weight division, where he has reigned for many years now. Zepeda mentioned that Terence Crawford might do well in the first few rounds, but then the weight factor could take effect later.

"Canelo has more to lose than to win", added Segura, in terms of status as the bigger guy and defending undisputed super-middleweight champion. He concluded that the fight he wanted to see and would have been Canelo against David Benavidez.

As for himself, Zepeda Segura is already back in the gym and is targeting a fight towards the end of the year, in order to stay sharp and hungry.
