Undisputed bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney announces move up in weight

'The Queen of Catford' Ellie Scotney (12-0) has made the bold decision to move up in weight after completing the super-bantamweight division.

As she gradually gathered the belts at super-bantamweight, the 122lbs limit became increasingly harder to make with time. So, the decision was made to move up a division to featherweight (126lbs).

Firstly promoted by Matchroom, now signed to Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), 28-year-old Scotney has cleaned up at super-bantamweight, becoming one of very few British undisputed champions in the four belt era.

Much of the talk after defeating Mayelli Rosquero last April was whether Scotney would make a defence of her titles against WBC mandatory Skye Nicolson.

Scotney-Nicolson would have made one of the biggest fights in female boxing due to thair respective star status.

However, instead Ellie inscribed on Instagram, “I’ve given four years to 122lbs. Blood, sweat, tears… and yeah, even my hair in the final cut.

“But I stayed because I had one mission: leave with every belt.

“One by one, champion to champion, no vacants… no favours”.

“I’ve always said that integrity is everything, and I’d like to think I held onto that through it all.

“Thank you to my family, team and Most Valuable Promotions. So many of you have played a part in this moment”.

“All glory to the lord as I step into this next chapter”.

“126lbs awaits”.

Ellie Scotney moves up to featherweight

Fellow MVP star Amanda Serrano has ruled at featherweight over recent years, potentially a future opponent down the line for Scotney.

The Puerto Rican 'Real Deal' is the reigning WBA, WBO, and Ring Magazine champion.

Tiara Brown has the WBC belt.

Nina Meinke has the IBF and IBO in her possession.

WBC Interim titlist Dina Thorslund could also be a target for the South Londoner.
