WBC Youth Intercontinental title to be contested in Bangladesh

On March 8, 2024, at Uttara Club Limited, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, AF Boxing Promotions will present a fight in the super flyweight division where the World Boxing Council Intercontinental Youth title will be at stake.

Local fighter Md Sabiul Islam (5-0, 4KO) will face off against India's Shubham Yadav (3-1-1, 1KO).

20-year-old 'King' Islam comes to this fight after defeating Md Naseem Ahmed on points over four rounds, which is his only fight from five not to end early. He is rated as the No.1 super flyweight in Bangladesh.

While Yadav arrives after drawing with Aman Aman last September. aged just 18, he won his first three fights until his first loss in May 2023, followed by a draw in September. The Indian youngster will be eager to get back to winning ways against Islam this weekend.

In addition to this fight, the card will feature an interesting selection of Bangladeshi prospects, such as lightweight Abdul Mottalib (8-1, 5KO); 'The Killer' Mohon Ali (9-2-2, 4KO), a featherweight going into his first eight-rounder; and heavyweight debutant Shah Kamali.
