Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua sign contracts for two-fight undisputed heavyweight clash

The Undisputed British Heavyweight clash is on!

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have reportedly signed a two-fight deal to face off in an undisputed heavyweight clash in 2021, with date and venue yet to be confirmed.

Unified champion Joshua will put his WBA, IBF and WBO belts on the line against the unbeaten WBC and Ring Magazine champion Fury this year.

The fight has been reported to have been in the pipeline for several months with Eddie Hearn reporting back in February that the deal was approaching completion with the fighters needing to sign with their parties.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Hearn told Sky Sports: "All parties have now put pen to paper and we will be working hard over the next few weeks to confirm the site and date for the biggest fight in boxing."

The news comes after both fighters have been speaking publicly about the fight, with Fury seeming to downplay any prospects of the fight happening in an interview with IFLTV.

He said: "Whatever they say is very unimportant to me because, until I have a fight date and a hell-of-a-lot of money in my pocket, there is no fight.

"Will I be fighting Joshua in the next ten minutes? No. Do I think the fight will eventually happen? Yes, it has to happen. Do I think it is next or imminent? No. I am not going to hold my breath for it, that's for sure.

"I am not going to put all my eggs in one basket because I have been guilty of doing that before and, when the fight doesn't happen, that is when I end up in a massive depression and feel like killing myself. I am not going to say 'it is definitely happening in June or July.' I have stopped training at the moment, I am on holiday."

Meanwhile Joshua declared his eagerness to get the fight on, and revealed he was uninterested in the venue as long as the fight could take place.

He told Sky Sports: "Any option. Home turf, Middle East, my back garden, your back garden. I don't mind where it is.I'm just ready to fight. I want that belt. I want to compete with Fury so all options are open to me.

With a training camp already under way, Joshua also admitted he is relishing a massive showdown with Fury. [The pandemic] is getting close to things being normal. We're working on a date for around June.So if Tyson is serious, which I think he is, he'll know where to come and find the boss! I'm ready. I'm really looking forward to competition - all I want to do is fight, fight, fight!"
