Tureano Johnson stuns unbeaten Jason Quigley

Tureano Johnson takes NABF belt along with Jason Quigley's 'zero'

Last night at the Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio, California – Tureano Johnson stopped Jason Quigley in nine rounds of pure action to conquer the NABF belt.

Johnson, 35 from Georgia, arrived to this fight completely motivated on rebuilding his career after being defeated by Sergiy Derevyanchenko in August 2017.

“You don’t know what I’ve been through,” said Tureano Johnson, who hadn't won a fight for over two years. “But soon you’ll see why everything I went through was worth it. I pay my respects to Jason Quigley. He showed a lot of heart. I hit him with everything but the kitchen sink, and he still didn’t quit. I’m here to get a big strap. I want a world title.”

“I wish Tureano Johnson the best,” said 28-year-old Jason Quigley. “I have respect for you. I congratulate you on your win.”

Bahamas-born Tureano Johnson left the ring with a record of 21-2-1, 15 KO's; while Jason Quigley was defeated for the first time in  his career and now holds a record of 16-1, 12 KO's.

The Californian-based Irishman, known as 'El Animal', conceded the NABF belt he won in 2017 with a UD win over Glen Tapia and successfully defended once against Freddy Hernandez in 2018.
