Three Lions Promotions, promoter of Ryan Rozicki, won the purse bid ordered by the World Boxing Council on Wednesday, February 5, for the fight against the champion, Badou Jack, securing Rozicki a long-awaited shot at the cruiserweight title.
The fight pits Jack, (28-3-3, 17 KO), the current WBC cruiserweight champion, against his mandatory challenger Rozicki (20-1-1, 19 KO).
“We have won the rights to promote the WBC Cruiserweight World Championship. We are looking forward to organizing the Jack-Rozicki fight in April in Canada. We will give more details about the card soon,” said Dan Otter of Three Lions Promotions.
The Swedish 'Jack The Ripper' ripped the WBC cruiser championship from Ilunga Makabu in February 2023, dropping the Congolese star in rounds four and 11, before the 12th round stoppage.
'The Bruiser' Rozicki, 29 from Canada, drew in his last fight with Yamil Alberto Peralta last December, leaving the WBC Interim title vacant.
Date and venue to be announced shortly.
