Harlem Eubank is very familiar in the UK already, due to his backgorund and his famous fighting family that included cousin Chris Jr and uncle Chris Sr. However, the Frenchman isn't as well known, having never fought in Enmgland before.

David Papot Facts

David Papot was born March 3, 1991 in Saint-Nazaire, Loire-Atlantique, France.

His nickname is 'L'enfant de Penhoet', which translates to 'The Child of Penhoet'.

He began boxing aged eight, amassing 102 amateur bouts. He participated in 30 fights with the French Olympic team, reaching the quarter-finals of the European Championships. In addition to winning several international tournaments, he was a two-time Junior Champion of France, two-time Vice Champion of France, and Senior Champion of France.

Papot turned pro in 2013 and won his debut on points on October 19 in his hometown.

He won the French super-welterweight title in October 2017, four years and one day after his pro bow. He defended it successfully twice.

In 2019, he drew with American James McGirt when challenging for the vacant WBO International middleweight title in New York.

In 2021, he won the IBA World super-welterweight title, which was once held by Oscar De La Hoya in 2002. Papot defended the belt twice.

In 2024, he won the WBO Global welterweight belt, then won the IBF International strap the same year.

His only professional career defeat came in his last fight, in September 2025, against Liam Paro, which was an IBF World welterweight title eliminator in Brisbane, Australia. Many felt the French southpaw was unlucky to emerge from his trip Down Under a spirited runner-up, having repeatedly hurt and bruised home fighter Paro during a competitive title eliminator, particularly late on in the fight towards a big finish.

He has also won the WBA Continental middleweight title.

David has defeated four unbeaten opponents during his nine-year pro career.

He is managed by David Musset of Celtic Fighters Boxing.
