Eddie Hearn hints at announcement of Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua in undisputed British heavyweight clash

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that an announcement for the historic British clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could happen in the 'next two weeks'.

Negotiations have reportedly been ongoing between the two camps for several weeks, in order to iron out several details including broadcasting deals and venue.

However Hearn believes that the fight could be well nearing completion with just minor issues with contracts currently being worked on in order to prepare to finalise the deal.

He told Matchroom Boxing: "We're back and forward with draft contracts, we've sent a draft contract, they've sent some minor changes – nothing too big, so again we're moving in the right direction.

"I've lost count of the number of times I've said 'the next two weeks', but the next two weeks we hope for an official announcement and then we go out and decide where this thing will take place."

When questioned about a potential venue for the fight, with the UK seemingly off the cards due to the inability to host a full crowd during the coronavirus pandemic Hearn revealed they are talking with a number of countries who have offered lucrative deals.

"We've had massive offers from the Middle East, we're talking to Qatar, we're talking to Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, we're talking to Singapore, we're talking to China, we're talking to America.

"A couple of wildcards in there as well. But first of all I want to make sure the deal is in place then we can go out there and talk to these people sensibly and with confidence this fight is happening, and like I said we're a couple of weeks away."

Previous reports from Bob Arum in Tyson Fury's camp with Top Rank also hinted that the fight deal was near completion, with both camps progressing reasonably with their contract offers.

Broadcasting rights look like they may be split between a range of outlets both globally and nationally in the UK with Sky Sports, DAZN, ESPN and BT Sport set to gain rights.
