The incredible story of Dante Stone - the heavyweight who fights for his brother with autism
This coming October 19th, the semi-finals of the WBC Boxing Grand Prix will be held, broadcast live on DAZN.
Among the semi-finalists in the heavyweight division is 31-year-old Dante Stone, a fighter from Nebraska who currently lives in Arizona.
Throughout the competition, he has fought his way to this stage with three wins, one by knockout and two by unanimous decision. His next test will be against Argentine Kevin Ramírez.
Dante is not only a warrior in the ring, but also in his daily life, where he fights every day for his brother. Away from the gloves and the ring, Stone cares for his brother Andre, who has autism.
At his home in the East Valley, his daily routine includes making sure he has something ready for Andre’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as trying to do activities like taking him for walks around the neighbourhood every day.
Stone is aware that his parents won’t be there forever and must prepare for that day, as no one will take care of his brother better than Dante himself.
Andre and others in difficult situations are a major source of motivation for the American boxer. Stone always remembers that there is someone in a worse situation.
Stone’s desire to help extends to the business world. Dante owns shares in two healthcare centres. He started in this field because he wants to be the person who helps give people a second chance.
