Rap star Shailock 'Nitro' Goyri (4-0-1, 2KOs), the son of the famous Mexican actor Sergio Goyri, was a special guest at the traditional “Coffee Tuesday” revealing the big step that he will take this May in Tijuana, where, after almost two years of inactivity, he's returning to the ring.
Nitro, who's last fight was in July 2019, commented that Eddy Reynoso was a great and inspirational teacher for him, but at this time, it`s necessary to make a change. He`s now working with Fernando Beltrán.
On how he came to boxing, Nitro explained that, although his whole family is a soccer focused, they're also keen boxing fans and he remembers that, since he was a child, Saturdays were a get together for the family to enjoy fight nights.
He commented that boxing has steered him on the right path, away from potential temptations, as it requires great discipline. He added that, for him, boxers have always been super heroes because they climb into the ring to deliver everything and their bravery makes them legends.
Determined to win over the fans, by showing he's got what it takes to be a great champion, Nitro is confident of a great return as he will reinforce it with a two-month camp. So far, he has not lost a fight, drawing on his debut in December 2017, followed by two stoppage wins in 2018, succeeded by two points wins. Goyri's sixt opponent has yet to be named, but he hasn't fought a winning fighter yet in his short career.
He thanked WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, who since he started in the world of gloves has always supported him and promised to continue working hard to one day be the proud owner of the Green and Gold Belt.
