Oleksandr Usyk vs Dereck Chisora: Live coverage and results of heavyweight clash

Former undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk takes on his first real test in the heavyweight division against Dereck Chisora at the SSE Arena live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN on Saturday night.

The heavyweight clash has finally been rescheduled after a long period of uncertainty caused by the pandemic with the pair initially scheduled to clash on 23rd May, but now the talking is over and with work from Matchroom Boxing the fight deal was concluded for 'Fright Night' on Saturday.

Fight #4

SAVANNAH MARSHALL vs HANNAH RANKIN
10 x 2 mins vacant WBO Middleweight World Title

Savannah Marshall took the intitiative in the opening rounds boxing well and keeping the distance to Hannah Rankin and landed combinations frequently. She made in roads into the defence of Rankin wearing her down, using her reach advantage well to continue to dominate with swift combinations.

The English fighter then upped the gears in the seventh round to hammer a huge range of combinations directly into Hannah Rankin and a huge right hand landed flush on Hannah Rankin forcing her down to the canvas, and the fight was stopped shortly after by the referee.

Marshall is now the WBO female middleweight champion.

LEE SELBY vs GEORGE KAMBOSOS JR

Lee Selby began the fight well boxing comfortably within himself landing the jab well with both fighters trying to find their feet in the early stages of the fight. Kambosos began to make his way into the fight starting to land the jab and rattle Selby who appeared to lose his rhythm slightly in the fourth.

Selby continued to box well and tried to maintain the upper hand, but Kambosos continued to counter well to the body and use the jab to fight back and maintain his ground on the scorecards, as the fight continued to proceed into a very even contest into round 7.

Both fighters exploded into life in round eight with Selby landing his best punch of the fight so far and taking the initiative and moving forward during the round, but Kambosos landed late in the round to continue to stay in contention.

Kambosos Jr however continued to take all of Selby's shots with ease, and step foward to try and seize the initiative in the championship rounds, and use his youth to take charge with added energy.

The championship round arrived with little ease on the scorecards as Kambosos continues to try and make in roads into Selby coming forward, as was Selby who continued to swing to try and land against the Australian. Kambosos finished extremely well with a superb counter punching display in the final rounds to give the judges a decision to make on the scorecards.

George Kambosos Jr wins the contest and becomes mandatory challenger for the IBF lightweight belt held by Teofimo Lopez.

OLEKSANDR USYK vs DEREK CHISORA
12 x 3 mins WBO Intercontinental Heavyweight Title

Chisora as expected taking the front foot early on, landing a first right hand in the first round and piling on the early pressure as roughly expected in the early stages. Usy continues to take a step back in the second round with Chisora using his power and weight to attack Usyk and bully him in the ring.

'Del Boy' continued to make in roads and pile pressure into Usyk, giving him no room to manouevre and find his boxing rhythm going into Round Three. However Usyk began to weather the early storm landing some tremendous late body shots to withdraw the early pressure from Chisora. 

Round Four proceeded in a similar fashion with Chisora landing two right hands flush on Usyk but Usyk continued to try and take the centre of the ring and sit well behind and take the space away from Chisora's early momentum.

Usyk continued to box well and landed some great shots in round five to take the wind out of Chisora's sails and the conserted pressure that he faced early-on.

The Chisora pressure slowed as the fight went into Round Seven with Usyk starting to pick off the energy-sapped Chisora.

Although Chisora continued to take some neat combination shots from Usyk, he continued to fight on without throwing any real combinations in the exchanges of his own.

'WAR' came out with more energy at the start of the ninth, but Usyk continued to unload great combinations to take the momentum away from Chisora in the exchanges.

The Championship rounds continued with Chisora once again trying to work the body with some whipping power shots in Round Eleven but Usyk continued to move well and box his way out of some tight corners.

A tremendous heavyweight scrap reached the final round, with Chisora trying to make in-roads in the last round with Usyk continuing to keep his distance and move away from involving himself in a dog-fight.

Oleksandr Usyk defeats Dereck Chisora by unanimous decision after the final bell, with scorecards at 117-112, 115-113, 115-113.
