Oleksandr Usyk reveals one opponent he does not like

Ahead of his undisputed heavyweight clash with Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, London, Oleksandr Usyk revealed the single one of his 21 opponents that he really doesn't like.

The 38-year-old Ukrainian has fought in over 350 competitive contests and is well known for being likeable, respectable and friendly.

However, there was one former foe that he did not get on with and continues to loathe for his disrespectful and personal comments.

The two-weight undisputed champion elucidated, "My weakness? I love people. I love my opponents.

"Only one of my opponents I do not love, it's Marco Huck.

"He is a bad guy because this man said bad words about my mother."

Now aged 40, Marco Huck (43-5-1, 28 KOs) was born in Serbia and lived in Berlin, Germany. He became the joint longest-reigning cruiserweight world champion of all-time after holding the WBO belt from 2009-2015.

Usyk first became a world champion when he won the WBO cruiserweight belt from undefeated Krzysztof Glowacki in 2016. 

It was his third defence, under a year later, when he stopped his adversary Marco Huck in 10 rounds.

Usyk dethroned Glowacki in his native Poland; then he retained his new belt against Michael Hunter in his American backyard; he stopped Huck in German 'Fatherland'; became a unified WBO and WBC champion in Latvian Mairis Briedis' home city of Riga; then became the undisputed cruiserweight champion by decisioning Armenian Murat Gassiev in his Russian residence; then he defended his hoard of titles in Manchester against Englishman Tony Bellew.

The globetrotter has made it a theme to go into opponents' backyards to defeat them in front of their home fans, yet he is extremely well liked still, despite the many upsets abroad.

When he moved up to heavyweight, he defeated American Chazz Witherspoon in Chicago in 2019; then he beat Derek Chisora in London; and he became a two-weight world champion by dethroning Anthony Joshua within 20 miles of his address in Tottenham.

Since then, he has fought in Saudi Arabia, and his title defence in Poland against Daniel Dubois was the closest he has come to fighting at home.

This weekend, on Saturday, July 19, he will compete in the first-ever undisputed heavyweight championship clash to take place on UK soil. Usyk and Daniel Dubois will lock horns for a second time in an intruiging rematch where, although Usyk dominated and dropped Dubois twice to win in round nine, two years ago, the Brit returns as a world champion and one of the sport's most improved fighters.

Usyk and Dubois will meet at Wembley Stadium this Saturday, live on DAZN.
