California's Matt 'El Matador' McKinney (7-3-2, 4KOs) will face Tijuana's Jesus 'El Perro' Paez (9-6, 7KOs) live on FIGHT.TV on July 10 at the Hotel Fontan Intapa in Guerrero, Mexico.

The event will be promoted by FIGHT.TV and Tanque Garcia Promotions.

40-year-old heavyweight McKinney comes into his 13th contest following two back to back knockout victories in March 2019 and 2020. The 6ft 4" Californian has won five from his last six fights, which includes a win against Scottish cruiserweight champion, Jay McFarlane, at Madison Square Garden.

His Mexican counterpart has seven KOs from nine victories, but has only won three from his last six contests, and hasn't fought in three years, his last bout was in June 2018. All three reverses were KO defeats in rounds one, two and three.

American McKinney will be encouraged by the fact that Paez has never beaten an opponent with a winning record, but his power will be a danger throughout their heavyweight bout.

With just one win in his first four fights, McKinney has improved vastly to only taste defeat once in his last eight contests.

Undercard

Local bantamweight  Samuel "Scorpion" Dominguez (2-3, 1KO), from Acapulco, said of his forthcoming sixth fight, "I am very happy to be on FIGHT.TV and in my hometown for my start."

Hard-hitting Hector 'Papi Payp' Coronado (11-2, 9KOs), from Acapulco, is facing Sonora's Ricardo Arce (2-1, 2KOs) at heavyweight. Hector boasted, "Having a victory over Arce will spotlight who I am - a champion!"
