Kyle Davies vs Aaron Bird for the vacant IBO European light-heavyweight title

Someone will lose their undefeated record while the other wins their first professional titles with a major governing body, when unbeaten prospects Kyle Davies (10-0, 6 KOs) and Aaron Bird (7-0, KOs) clash for the vacant IBO European and Commonwealth Silver light-heavyweight belts on November 8.

The light-heavyweights lock horns at Kings Hall in Stoke-on-Trent, topping a Black Flash Promotions bill.

The 175lbs rivals were meant to meet earlier in the year, in July, but Kyle Davies was unfortunately involved in a car accident on his way to the weigh-in for the 'The City That Never Sleeps' show.

Bird has already won and defended a Celtic light-heavyweight title in his seven-bout career.

Hard-hitting Davies, 24 from Werrington in Stoke-on-Trent, has stopped his last two opponents, which includes his first winning fighter, Paul Clewes, who was 11-1 when they met in March.

Davies hones his skills at Longton’s Bluebird Boxing Club, under the watchful eye of manager and trainer Joe Eccleston, who commented, “This fight is a major step up and a massive opportunity. Kyle’s ready. He’s trained for this moment his entire life and he’ll prove he belongs at the top.”

Also on the card is Cheshire's Mae Astbury (2-0) in the 27-year-old's third fight of the year against Leeds 'Viper' Kira Carter (0-22-1).  The super-bantamweights meet over six rounds.

Crewe's Henry Rogerson (0-0-1) is back in the ring over 20 months on from his pro bow, which didn't go according to plan when he drew 38-38 with journeyman Jahfieus Faure in February 2024. This time, he looks for the win against Sheffield's Karl Sampson (9-58-1, 1 KO) in what will be the 31-year-old's 70th contest.
