Determined to win the WBC world flyweight Belt, Mexico City contender, Julio César “El Rey” Martínez, prepares as never before in the State of Mexico's Otomi Ceremonial Center of Temoaya.

Julio Cesar Martínez Aguilar, on Saturday August 31, will seek to conquer the WBC crown against Champion Charlie Edwards, 26 from Surry, England, as part of the card led by Ukrainian Vasiliy Lomachenko and Brit Luke Campbell.

After eight days tucked away in his wind swept high altitude camp of Temoaya, the challenger has just begun the stage of resistance and stamina work that is complemented with eight and 10 rounds of sparring, which he performs under the meticulous supervision of coach Mauricio Aceves Gallegos. And with the help of super-flyweights Yair Moral Deval, Joaquín “Sonrisas” Cruz and Joel Córdoba.

“We are ready to a war, that´s why we came to the heights of the State of Mexico to oxygenate Julio César Martínez well,” declares his team.

With a professional record of 14 fights won, 11 of them by KO, with a single defeat, Martínez Aguilar comes from defeating Irre Ordaz and also Andrew Selby. He now challenges Londoner Charlie Edwards, who is the WBC world flyweight champion.

Charlie is signed to Brit promoter Eddie Hearn, while his younger brother Sunny, unbeaten in 12, is with rival promoter Frank Warren. The brothers aim to unify world titles and rule for as long as possible like the Klitschko's did in the heavyweight scene.
