Jermell Charlo wins WBC's Boxer of the Month award for January

Jermell Charlo is the World Boxing Council's Boxer of the Month for January 2020 for having conquered the super-welterweight title against Tony Harrison.

Charlo (33-1, 17 KOs) reclaimed the green and gold belt from the reigning champion Harrison (28-3, 21 KOs) with a blistering stoppage at 2:08 of the 11th round in a FOX PBC Fight Night main event and on FOX Deportes from Toyota Arena in Ontario, California in a much-anticipated grudge match on December 21. The two-time champion stated after the win, "I got the belt back and I didn't leave it up to the judges,'' Charlo said. "Tony is a former champion. He had a lot on the line. I dominated and I knocked him out."
