Jeanine Brown returns for title fight on Thunderdome 53

Friday the 13th of March, Dragon Fire Boxing hits the Metro City Arena in Perth for the first time this year for Thunderdome 53.

One of the many title fights on the bumper bill includes the exciting Western Australian State super-lightweight championship clash between Jeanine Brown (2-0, 1 KO) and Katelyn Stack (1-2).

Both boxers are former champions. Stack had three fights during 2023, winning the WA State lightweight championship. Jeanine Brown has fought twice, winning the Australian National Boxing Federation Australasian super-lightweight title.

Brown gave her thoughts on her next fight and opponent, “I respect Katelyn, anyone that steps in the ring deserves that. She's tough, experienced and brings her own strengths. I'm excited to share the ropes with her.”

When asked what it means to fight for this title, Jeanine answered, ”It’s the reward of years of work, sacrifice and discipline. Also a responsibility to myself, to my team and everyone that has supported me.

“Coming back to Perth feels special and exciting. Training in Darwin has pushed me in new ways, mentally and physically. It feels like a full circle moment.

“I’m very excited. This stage of my boxing journey isn’t about proving yourself the way you did in your 20s or 30s. It’s about redefining what strength, discipline, and passion look like now. Now I'm in my 40s your goals naturally evolve — not because you’re slowing down, but because you’re wiser, more self‑aware. You’re training with experience behind you, not ego. You’re choosing goals that support longevity, health, and personal fulfilment. You’re boxing because it makes you feel alive, strong, and grounded , not because you need to chase anyone else’s expectations. It’s about owning my own journey.”

From Perth, Katelyn Stack makes her comeback after almost two-and-a-half-years away from the ring. She also shared some praise for her next foe, “Brown is a strong opponent. Definitely going to be a good fight.

A win for Stack in her return to the ring could see her become a two-weight Western Australia State champion in just her fourth fight.

“It is an honour to be fighting for a WA state title for my comeback fight, it means a great deal to me.

“There is no better feeling than fighting in your home town with all your people watching and supporting”.

She expressed gratitude for her travelling fans, “Thank you to all who have supported me throughout my entire boxing journey. I have had old supporters cheering me on from the beginning and have new supporters who have just joined the journey. I am grateful for each and every one of them.”

Katelyn concluded, “Goals for 2026: step back in the ring and do what I am supposed to be doing… fight.”
