YouTuber Jake Paul was given a painful black eye during a sparring session with Brit boxer Lawrence Okolie just weeks before his forthcoming fight with Anthony Joshua on December 19 in Miami.
The divisive American sported the bruised right eye during an interview with Adin Ross. On Friday, November 28, Paul shared a post on social media of himself in the gym with highly-ranked heavyweights Jared Anderson, Frank Sanchez and two-weight world champion Lawrence Okolie after a gruelling sparring session with the elite heavyweights.
It was Lawrence "The Sauce" Okolie who inflicted the injury, which Paul will fully recover from by the time the festive fight night rolls around. Okolie has won world titles at cruiserweight and bridgerweight, and just recently became the WBC #1 heavyweight.
"The Problem Child" discussed his weight during the interview, "I'm like 215lbs. I have to get to 218, 220lbs."
AJ has agreed to a limit of 245lbs and 10oz gloves for the 8x3 heavyweight contest. The last time the 36-year-old Londoner weighed in under 245lbs was for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk was over three years ago in August 2022, which he lost via split decision.
The unlikely duo will clash live on Netflix in an event that's set to receive over 100 million viewers.
