Jai Opetaia wants Badou Jack fight following Huseyin Cinkara

Jai Opetaia and Turki Alalshikh plan a big 2026

Jai Opetaia (28-0, 22 KO’s) is ready to face off against Huseyin Cinkara on December 6th, and he's looking forward to his future in the cruiserweight division. 

Speaking to Fight Hype, he has revealed that this is the beginning step in his bid to become undisputed. 

“It feels good to be back in the ring (before the end of the year) and obviously we wanted these unification fights but once again we’ve been derailed but we’ve got a job to do,” Opetaia said. 

“We’re still on a mission to become undisputed so we need to take care of business on the 6th of December.

“Every fight that I have is a statement, every time I step in the ring it’s a statement. This is no different. I belong to be there, I deserve these unification fights. Every time I step into the ring, though, it’s f-ckin’ war. I’ve never taken anyone lightly, I’ve prepared for anything they bring and this is no different.

Opetaia has previously revealed that he plans to take on every big name in the division, and his intentions remain no different. He went in to reveal that WBC champion Badou Jack is next on his hit list. 

“6th of December we’ve got to take care of business. They called Badou Jack, man. I’ve messaged Badou Jack personally myself. I said ‘Are we fighting? What’s going on?’ He said he wants the fight, you know, we got to take care of our mandatory and then he wants to fight,” he revealed.

“Hey, done. Be a man of your word, after this fight, once the mandatories are taken care of, if you get past yours, which I’ve got to get past mine too, but let’s f-ckin’ do it. Don’t go back on it now.

The Australian went on to reveal that a potential superfight against David Benavidez is not out of the question for 2026, having spoken with Saudi boxing kingpin, Turki Alalshikh.

“(Turki Alalshikh) has told me we got Badou Jack, which is another hard fight. If we win that we go down to Ramirez. We win that, and once we do that he told me he wants Benavidez to come up to come up to cruiserweight and we fight Benavidez. If that’s the course, let’s f-ckin’ do it. I’m pumped for that.”
