Dillian Whyte believes he is in great shape, and is ready for 'destruction or war' against 'agressive and experienced fighter' in Alexander Povetkin .

British heavyweight Dillian Whyte (27-1 18KOS) takes on Alexander Povetkin (35-2-1 24KO'S) on Saturday night and believes he is in great shape and more motivated than ever to win the fight via any route possible, and maintain his status as WBC interim heavyweight champion.

'The Body Snatcher' has not fought since December last year where he beat Mariusz Wach by unanimous decision, but believes that he is in a much better place and physical condition to take on this new challenge, and finally claim his shot at facing Tyson Fury for the WBC title.

Whyte looked out of sorts in the contest, but looked fresh faced and prepared upon his arrival to 'the bubble' at Fight Camp, but is aware that he cannot underestimate the power and experience of his opponent, and has trained hard with Xavier Miller in Portugal to put any faults in his performance right nd be as prepared as possible to put on a show on PPV on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN.

He said: "Povetkin is a very aggressive fighter, I know they think they can beat me due to the experience, as I know that I made technical mistakes. He might try and come out early or late, like he did against Hunter, but I am prepared for whatever. A 12 round war or a short destruction, I am prepared for whatever comes at me.

Noone can say that Povetkin is an easy fight, being consistent for 15 years at this level. He has been giving reigning world champions problem's such as Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko. He is a very strong and determined guy. He is technically sound and carries superb punch power, and although hes gone on longer than me and some others at 40, he has proved he can still beat the top guys."

The Brixton fighter has recently split with trainer Mark Tibbs, and is now training with Xavier Miller, in addition to adding Dave Coldwell to his corner, but believes that they have helped him physically and mentally prepare in much more depth for the contest and can help him build up once again on his journey to becoming world champion.

"I haven't got any issues outside the ring, I feel physcially and mentally strong and prepared for the fight. The whole of last year was a write-off, I was fighting for my career, being belittled in the public domain, but am now ready to shine and show my true self against a top fighter".

I didn't need much persuasion to fight now, we all fight in different walks of life, but I am a fighter and I'm ready to fight. I'm not a novice but I still have a lot of learning to do but I will learn in time to become champion, so I've already added the bricks to the wall".

A huge title shot awaits Whyte with a victory in this contest, he is relaxed and confident ahead of this huge opportunity, but is also very aware of the serious threat that Povetkin possesses, particularly with the left hook that has rocked several of the Russian's opponents.
