World champion-in-waiting Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) is just 20 years old and will have his 14th professional fight against the accomplished American, following on from his first-round destruction of Dillian Whyte last time out in August.
The 21-year-old southpaw from Chatham, Kent, is widely tipped to become Britain's next heavyweight world champion, currently ranked WBA and WBO #1. The Slovakian-born Brit has only had to box in 26 rounds over his 13 pro contests, scoring a knockout - on average - every two rounds.
His next opponent has been brought over specifically to give him rounds, whilst also presenting a clear and present danger, like when he drew 115-115 on one of the scorecards against Dillian Whyte in 2022.
Franklin (24-2, 15 KOs), 32, from Michigan, comes into the fight off the back of three straight wins with his only career setbacks coming in the UK against Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua, both by decision.
Since those back-to-back defeats, the "989 Assassin" has beaten three fighters with a combined record of 54-10-1 to reach the 11th spot in the WBO world rankings.
A win for Itauma could result in a shot at the WBO world heavyweight championship next, which would mean an all-British showdown with Queensberry stablemate and new titleholder Fabio Wardley.

Prediction
Tim Rickson, BBN Editor: Franklin has proven his toughness by going 12 rounds with both Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua. He has great head movement and fast feet for a heavyweight, quite spritely and quick.
Despite this, I have no doubt that Itauma is still going to be able to land on him, especially as his hands are down very often due to his loose, relaxed style of fighting.
So, I expect Itauma to score yet another knockout, but I can picture this coming after a few rounds, perhaps from the third onwards. Franklin is tough, but also elusive early on, so I think he could make it through the opening two rounds, but I'm quite sure Itauma will land a big right hand to cause damage in the first quarter of the fight.
